FORUM EMERGE 2015, Yaounde – cameroon

Hello Everyone,

WaterWays Solution is in the first phase leading to the 1st International forum on the funding of Projects of Decentralized Territorial Councils in Cameroon (EMERGE 2015). This first phase constitute essentially, regional workshops, to be held all over the national territory. These workshops aims at informing all Mayors and government delegates in Cameroon, about the activities and the business model of projects to be funded and realized within the framework of the Forum EMERGE 2015.

We’re well accompanied in this process by the Ministry of Territorial administration and Decentralization (MINATD), National Community Driven Development Program (PNDP), and other esteemed institutions involved in the promotion of Decentralization and local governance.

We’re commencing with the Northwest region and the West region, which will take place at the Bamenda congress hall, on Monday 17th November 2015 at 10:00 AM. During the workshops, the Mayors and government delegates will have the opportunity to be more edified vis-à-vis to the forum EMERGE 2015, which will take place from the 13th to 15th January, 2015 at the Yaounde conference hall.

We’re inviting all Mayors, Government delegates, Municipal officials, partners and supporters of Development, to join forces with us, as we march forward towards an ultimate goal which will make us all living in a world which is one.

From the Northwest, we’ll be heading straight to the Littoral region (the economic capital), to push on with the first phase leading to the forum.
Forum EMERGE 2015, comes in to pave a faster lane in the implementation of projects in Cameroon. Mobilizing and proposing viable alternatives in the realization of projects in Cameroon.Much work is left for us all to render Cameroon, ultimately the Land of Promise, Land of glory.  It’s time to let the echos glamor out of Cameroon.  Investors from all over the World are highly welcomed to join the forum EMERGE 2015, to invest in Cameroon. The doors all opened, and the pathway has been straightened, with one voice, one heart and one spirit, ON WE GO………………………..

Hello everyone! In collaboration with the Government of Cameroon, WaterWays Solution, an Israeli company specialized in the funding of development projects,  presents the First International Forum on the Funding of Councils Development Projects in Cameroon (EMERGE 2015). This will take place at the Yaounde conference Center (Palais de Congres), from the 13th to the 15th of January, 2015, under the distinguished Patronage of the Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization. 

It’s an occasion which will bring international funders, investors and companies from; Brazil, India, China, Canada, United States of America, Israel, Turkey, Japan, Germany,  Spain, Italy and South Korea, to address the difficulties of funding and sustainability of Council development projects. High priority will be given to sectors of prime necessity, such as: Potable water availability, agriculture, animal husbandry, fishery, waste management, energy, social housing, road infrastructure, health, education, and will be buoyed by the presence of mayors from the 360 councils from the 10 regions of Cameroon, and of ministerial authorities. 

The implementation of community projects is placed at the center of economic and social development in rural areas. And therefore, contributes in enabling the Cameroonian government honour its commitments made on normative plans (the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals and the recommendations of the WSSD) and prospective (contained in the DSCE and the Vision for 2035), which today, clearly contributes to the emergence of the country in rural areas, often neglected to the detriment of the urban areas. The ideology and documentation on development issues is well elaborated, but the greatest challenge remains its effective implementation to yield viable results. This greatly appeals for everyone to joint the front row and pace setters to get actively involved towards a new pathway towards emergence, with the forum EMERGE 2015.

In this light, the ultimate goal is to make the local councils to be more autonomous, by giving them the chance to generate their own revenues, through profitable economic activities that will make them more independent;

PURPOSE OF THE FORUM

  • The Forum on the funding of investment projects of city councils in Cameroon will give way to address the problematic of projects and to establish direct relationship between the city councils and investors, following the criteria and conditions of international funders, according to each sector of the economy.
  • Energy, agriculture, animal husbandry, waste treatment, health, water supply, road infrastructure, housing, 200 projects will be part of selected innovations across the entire 367 urban and rural councils, following the criteria of investors. In accordance to the policy of the fight against poverty. In view to strengthen the coordination of international support in the implementation of the Program of the Millennium Development Goals.
  • This strong participation of international partners illustrates the commitment of the organizations on development issues, and the collective awareness on the issues today that affect the social and economic development of communities in Cameroon.  
  • Development programs of city councils is perceived by the UNDP and the populations as an opportunity for economic and social development. In addition to the ease of trade, it permits easy access to employment and essential services, it ensures the possibility of having higher standards of living, strengthening of democracy and empowerment of local authorities called upon to manage the daily lives of the people.

In view of properly addressing these challenges, WATERWAYS Solutions LTD has developed a unique approach to meet up with sustainability challenges, in order to render the development projects economically viable, and thus increase the incomes of the population in areas such as:

-Water supply

-Sanitation,

-Energy

-Agriculture,

-Housing

– Collection and treatment of household waste

-Agro Industries

– Basic infrastructure in the rural and semi-urban areas.

The Holistic methodology incorporates an appropriate technology as well as social models and businesses, to specifically address the challenges of non-sustainability, that affects more than 50 per cent of projects in Cameroon.

We wish to arrive at the following goals:

1-   The signing of partnership agreements between the funders,investors, companies and the decentralized territorial councils.

2- The signing of agreements between WaterWays (main facilitator of the event), with the FEICOM, on the Holistic Methodology, on the setting-up of community development projects

3-   Formation and development of business plans and economic feasibility studies based on the criteria of investors.

4- To bring strategic projects in the short term, through a planned and practicable financial mechanism

Let’s all all rise up and Emerge together within the realm of our greatness, with the forum EMERGE 2015.

Emergence is a journey, which, though always seem so far, is yet so close, it all lies within our will to get there (Petisok Frederic).
